Polaris Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Polaris is an independent Apple Ads client for iPhone, iPad and Mac, provided by Noam Efergan. This policy explains how the app handles information. For questions or privacy requests, contact info@nowham.dev.
How Polaris works
Polaris connects directly from your device to Apple’s authentication and Apple Ads services using API credentials you configure. Your Apple Ads requests and account data do not pass through a Polaris-operated server. You do not create a separate Polaris account.
The app stores credentials securely in Keychain and caches account information on your device so previously loaded information can remain available offline. Demo mode uses example data and does not require Apple Ads credentials.
Polaris does not include product analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking or a third-party crash-reporting SDK. We do not receive your cached Apple Ads data automatically, sell it or use it to advertise to you.
Credentials and Apple services
Polaris stores your API client ID, team ID, key ID, private key, credential label and related metadata in Apple Keychain. It uses the private key locally to sign an authentication assertion. The private key itself is not included in authentication or Apple Ads API requests.
Authentication requests send your client ID and signed assertion to Apple’s authentication service at appleid.apple.com. The assertion includes identifiers and validity timestamps. Polaris stores the returned access token in Keychain and sends it with requests to api.ads.apple.com, together with the relevant account identifier, query parameters and request content. Apple also receives the network information needed to provide these connections, such as your IP address, and the app’s version identifier.
Apple processes information through its own services under its applicable terms and privacy policy. Polaris does not receive your Apple Account password.
Optional iCloud Keychain sync
Credential sync is off by default. Where supported, you can enable it in Settings to allow Apple to sync your credential, including the private key, through your iCloud Keychain. This is an exception to device-only storage, and is controlled by your Apple Account and Apple’s sync service. Access tokens remain device-only.
Polaris explains when credential sync is unavailable on your platform or build. Turning sync off changes the credential’s storage policy on the current device; it does not promise immediate removal of copies already present on other devices or in backups. Account and reporting caches are not synced through this credential option.
Account information stored on your device
Polaris stores information retrieved from Apple Ads for the accounts you can access. This can include account and organisation names and identifiers, roles and permissions, billing configuration, campaign information and performance reports. It also stores freshness timestamps and query metadata, plus the account context and selection needed to reopen the app.
This information supports browsing, reporting and offline access. Offline information may be out of date. Cached data is kept in the app’s local storage and can be replaced, refreshed or cleared. Polaris does not provide a separate server backup of this cache.
Diagnostics and information you share
Polaris records limited technical diagnostics using Apple’s system logging facilities, including request paths, response status, request duration, retry attempts and rate-limit information. Request paths may include account or entity identifiers. These log events do not include private keys, authorization headers or request bodies. System logs and any diagnostics collected by Apple are subject to your platform settings and Apple’s handling.
Copying or sharing build details uses your device’s clipboard or system share controls. Information you choose to send, export or share is handled by the app or recipient you select. Please do not send private keys, access tokens or unnecessary account information in support messages.
Clearing data and removing credentials
Settings includes Clear & Resync, which clears locally cached account and reporting data while keeping the credential and saved account context. Data can be downloaded again when you use the app online.
Remove credential signs you out and removes Polaris’s stored credential, access tokens and session cache from the current app installation after the operation succeeds. If removal fails, Polaris reports the failure so you can retry. Removing a credential does not revoke the API key at Apple or delete campaigns or other information held by Apple Ads. Use Apple’s own account controls for those actions.
These controls do not erase copies you previously shared, operating-system logs or backups. Sync changes on other devices may take time. Uninstalling an app should not be relied on to remove its Keychain items; use Remove credential before uninstalling.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Noam Efergan is responsible for this correspondence. We use it to answer your request, troubleshoot problems and maintain necessary support records, relying on our legitimate interests in providing support and maintaining the app. Information is handled by the email service providers needed to deliver and store the correspondence, and may be disclosed where required by law.
We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, handle follow-up or meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to ask about or request deletion of correspondence. We do not automatically have access to your device’s local cache or Keychain, and cannot remotely erase them.
